About the Book

The Bard from Ballarat collections were birthed after being medically retired by the age of 30. Seeking a way to be self sufficient and remain a constructive member of society Volume 1 was soft launched in early 2013. With interest growing in both the photos and poems, Volume 2 was collated late 2013 and both were officially launched in November 2013. Each of these volumes are hand numbered and limited to 1,000 copies. Working with a local printer these beautifully presented books contain photos and poems capturing moments in time mixing real experience with poetic licence from over a decade of travel both in Australia and abroad. This international edition was released in January 2014 and combines Volume 1 & 2 into one book. This version is ideal for those prefering the images in matte compared to the glossy print of Volume 1 & 2. Topics covered in the poems include the gravity of the end of life, the beauty of new life, falling in and out of love and meeting muses near and far. Photos featured are from around Australia, USA and Canada. Scheduled for release in the first half of 2014 is a collection of short stories. An audio CD and a play are also in the works.
About the Author: Neville Hiatt was born in the 70's in a country town in the south east corner of Australia. The poems and photos in these collections span a lifetime of experience and are collated from a personal collection dating back to the 90's. So why publish them in 2013? The early years of Neville Hiatt's life were spent in speach therapy. Two decades later and he was starting his radio career and world travels. Another decade later and after a life changing accident, all previous life goals and ambitions are being re addressed and despite the daily pain that remains, the future still holds many promises to look forward too. The decision to publish was partly wanting to share parts of his story to encourage others while still being able to, and partly wanting to be self sufficient whilst being a constructive member of society despite being medically retired in his 30's. To order direct from the author go to http: //nevillehiatt.com/ Limited edition canvas prints are also available. Books can also be borrowed from your local library or purchased from your local bookstore.
