Die Identifizierung des Voseo mit Argentinien ist zwar zum Teil verständlich, es erscheint jedoch schade, wenn das Interesse für den Voseo in diesen Schranken bleibt. Der Voseo ist bei vielen als Anredephänomen kaum bekannt und wenn jemand über die Existenz des Voseo weiß, sind seine Kenntnisse über ihn oft sehr gering. Dass der Voseo weder eine Randerscheinung noch eine Art Nationaleigentum Argentiniens ist, zeigt, dass ca. ein Drittel der Spanischsprecher den Voseo als Anredeform benutzen. In vielen Fällen wissen diejenigen gar nicht, dass sie Formen des Voseo benutzen und auch Angesprochene merken oft nicht, dass sie mit dem Voseo angesprochen werden. Grund dafür sind die vielen Varianten des Voseo, die ihn oftmals nur schwer erkennen lassen, aber auch, dass in einigen Ländern der Voseo die Anredeform der ungebildeten clase baja ist. So vielfältig die Erscheinungsformen des Voseo sind, so unterschiedlich kann auch der Gebrauch des Voseo empfunden werden. So ist er in Argentinien normiert worden und somit neben usted zur offiziellen und korrekten Anrede geworden, in anderen Ländern werden den Kindern in der Schule konsequent die Formen des Tuteo beigebracht, während in ihrer Umgebung ausschließlich der Voseo verwendet wird. In manchen Ländern wird der Voseo als vulgär empfunden, in anderen als ein Zeichen von Intimität. Und dass beides selbst innerhalb eines Landes vorkommen kann, soll diese Arbeit zeigen.
