FLANDERS, March 1915. About the Author: Jean-Pierre Isbouts is a historian, a bestselling National Geographic author and award-winning filmmaker. He first gained worldwide renown with his 2006 book "The Biblical World," which became an international bestseller and is now in its fourth print. This success led to a series of National Geographic books, including the bestsellers In the Footsteps of Jesus (2011) and The Story of Christianity (2014). In 2013, Dr. Isbouts authenticated a canvas discovered in a Swiss vault as Leonardo's first version of the Mona Lisa, predating the Louvre version by at least seven years. This led to his book The Mona Lisa Myth (2013), which has since been made into a film starring Alessandro Demcenko as Leonardo da Vinci, and narrated by Morgan Freeman. His other publications include National Geographic's The Archaeology of the Bible (December, 2016); and Young Leonardo (2017), in which he argues that Leonardo was not the favored court artist in Milan that traditional scholarship holds him to be.
