About the Author: Die Autorin und Liedermacherin Elke Alma Paulussen, 1944 geboren, lebte mit ihren drei Kindern, ihrem Mann und den Großeltern in Hamburg-Neuenfelde. Sie schrieb zunächst in plattdeutscher Sprache und erhielt für ihren Gedichtband "Vondoog" und ihr Kinderbuch "Fleitjepiepen-Nils" den Niederdeutschen Literaturpreis der Stadt Kappeln/Schlei. Elke engagierte sich in kirchlichen und sozialen Bereichen und erteilte als Dozentin 35 Jahre Platteutsch-Kurse. Ab 1993 war sie journalistisch tätig und berichtete in hoch- und plattdeutscher Sprache über Menschen und Begebenheiten aus ihrem ländlichen Bereich. Ihre Texte wurden in Zeitungen und Büchern veröffentlicht und vom NDR gesendet. Sie liest in Schulklassen, geht regelmäßig in Kindergärten und bringt Kindern die plattdeutsche Sprache bei. Einmal monatlich geht sie in ein Seniorenheim, liest und spielt plattdeutsche Lieder.
