About the Book

Bogen er opdelt i tre dele. I den første del (intuitionerne) behandler forfatteren de mest relevante hypoteser om den illusoriske virkelighed i den mærkbare verden. Eksistensen af et niveau af bevidsthed, der overskrider sagen, er blevet forestillet af de store tænkere. Vi finder denne idé i Platons myte om hulen, i Berkeleys "immaterialistiske teori", i "Formens psykologi" (Gestaltpsychologie). Den mest autoritative kilde ligger i værkerne om det kollektive ubevidste og om teorien om synkronicitet af Carl Jung.

I anden del (Bekræftelser) beskriver forfatteren på en elementær, men detaljeret måde kvantefysikens vej, fra Thomas Youngs dobbeltslidseksperiment til fænomenerne superposition af stater og kvantekorrelation. Gennem disse privilegerede nøgler er det muligt at forstå kvanteindvikling. I den tredje del (Perspektiver) beskriver forfatteren teorierne udviklet af David Bohm om "kvantepotentialet" på det "implicerede og eksplicerede univers" og om kosmos holografiske vision. Alt forklares med absolut enkelhed uden brug af matematiske formler og ved hjælp af mange illustrationer.

Menneskeheden har fra sin oprindelse ønsket at undersøge tingenes oprindelse og sammensætning for at opdage deres funktion og deres intime formål.

Den universelt anvendte metode er at nedbryde objekter i mindre og mindre dele og derefter analysere dem med enhver mulig teknik, fra visuel undersøgelse til kemiske reaktioner. Dette sker stadig i dag. For eksempel, hvis en videnskabsmand ønsker at opdage den kemiske og fysiske struktur af en granitterning, vil han bryde den i mindre og mindre stykker, indtil den er opdelt i individuelle atomer.

Men hvis forskeren selv ønsker at undersøge de enkelte partikler, der udgør atomet, får han en utrolig overraskelse. Granitterningen opfører sig som en isterning. Forskeren ser sagen, der bliver flydende, fordamper, forsvinder mellem fingrene. Materie bliver energi, der vibrerer.

De enkelte partikler omdannes til svingende bølger uden mere kropslighed.

På det subatomære niveau er stof ikke længere noget, det bliver noget andet. Elementære partikler bedrager os.

De ligner solide pletter, hvis nogen observerer dem, men de opfører sig som vibrerende bølger, når de ikke observeres.

Atomer indeholder praktisk taget kun vakuum.

På overfladen tror vi, at vi kan røre, veje, manipulere og måle stof. Men i sin mest intime sammensætning bliver stof en krusning af tomhed, energi, information, bølge eller vibration. Det, der forekommer os solidt materiale, i dets mest intime essens er ikke længere solidt materiale.

På dette tidspunkt er det klart, at vi ikke længere kan tale om en enkelt virkelighed. Afhængigt af observationsniveauerne, fra det ekstremt lille til det uendeligt store, er der mange virkeligheder, alle forskellige, men alle helt sande.

Eller måske er der mange aspekter af en højere virkelighed, stadig ukendt. Alle filosofier og religioner har altid antaget en "åndens zone", der går ud over sagen; ingen har dog nogensinde været i stand til at fremlægge bevis for dets eksistens. I dag åbner kvantefysik et stort vindue over horisonter, som vi indtil det sidste århundrede ikke kunne have forestillet os. Bekræftelserne kommer fra de eksperimenter, der er udført med succes, især dem, der vedrører fænomenet kvanteindvikling.
