Tammye DearingBorn in Hobbs, NM and raised in the small village of Maljamar, NM (population of 71 people). Grew up in the desert oilfields of Southeastern New Mexico working with my father as a swamper for his oilfield construction and fabrication business, workin on surrounding ranches as a ranch hand, or working in my grandparents café. We lived twenty six miles from the nearest town, where I went to school. Choir, art, drafting, musical plays, human/animal science, geometry, and mentoring in special education were my passions growing up. Reading, writing, music, and hunting were my favorite pastimes. I have always lived in the country and kept myself very busy by working where I am needed or helping others. Helping with people who have special needs, taking care of my elderly father, grandparents, or late mother-in-law. My life has not been easy, no one's life ever is if they have to work or run away as a teenager. I left at the age of eighteen and ran for over twenty-three years, before I went home and started getting my life together again! I found solace in writing.
