Mary Elizabeth WallMary Elizabeth Wall is the founder and director of Montessori Day School of Wellesley Hills. She is an American Montessori Society certified primary guide and has a Master's in Library and Information Science. She fondly recalls her first visit to a hildren's House. She was amazed and excited to see how the young children worked cooperatively and independently in the carefully prepared environment. The Montessori "works" and materials were interesting and engaging and the level of concentration and genuine enthusiasm of the children were inspiring. Everyday living lessons involving care of self, care of others, and care of the environment were evident and contributed to the wonderful sense of community that she observed. She knew immediately that she wanted to learn more about this beautiful way to teach young children.
