Ya sea en clave de humor, o valiéndose del monólogo interior (lo que se piensa y no se dice), trata el viaje de retorno de un Ulises de nuestro siglo a una Ítaca perdida entre las marismas del sur de Andalucía. La historia se desarrolla en un sólo día, pero será suficiente, como en la obra maestra de Joyce, para que viva las aventuras paralelas y versionadas respecto a todos los capítulos del clásico de Homero. Tras una mención un tanto extravagante al encuentro que da lugar a la gestación de Telémaco, y la posterior separación de los progenitores, el autor juega por primera vez con el tiempo. Así transcurren nueve meses. Palas Atenea ha citado a Penélope para una exploración ginecológica, mientras en otro continente Ulises es invitado a huir de la casa que gestiona su captora-amante. Y ahí comienza su particular odisea, sin seguir un rumbo fijo pero a la vez empujado al retorno con cada nueva aventura que sucede durante el camino. Un perro vagabundo le acompañará en todo momento; cuando se enganche a una despedida de solteros sin el soltero de turno; al esperar pacientemente a la puerta del prostíbulo de Circe; huyendo del Cíclope junto al resto de la tripulación; merodeando entre las piernas de las sirenas (vendedoras de píldoras a la puerta de una discoteca custodiada por los matones Escila y Caribdis); empujado por el viento Eolo entre los pasillos de un centro comercial; aguardando tras la tapia de un cementerio que semejará el Hades; y en el tren cuyas vías cruzarán las marismas en la última parte del viaje. Paralelamente a esta, acontecerá otra odisea, pero mucho más trágica. Lo incierto del final es un acicate más para invitar al lector a vivir su propia odisea imaginativa.
About the Author: Nacido en San Fernando (Cádiz), en 1971, y afincado en Ceuta (donde desarrolla su profesión de enfermero), ya ha publicado una novela en 2008, "La Isla Innominada", además de un relato corto, "La Herencia Del Futuro", seleccionado en 2012 para la colección "Relato Breve" de Imprimatur. Aún tiene pendiente la publicación de un libro de poemas, "Sólo Ángeles, solamente la mar".
