About the Author: Steph Rousseau is a full member and Ireland's Country Representative of the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE). While sitting on the board of the PDTE (2017-2020), she introduced a mentoring programme to support new members. She is currently undertaking the Compass Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour and has completed Turid Rugaas' International Dog Trainer's Education, Anne-Lill Kvam's Scentwork education and Amber Batson's Advanced Aggression course for Canine Professionals. She also has a certificate in Canine behaviour and dog training from Alpha Education. As well as her canine behaviour work, Rousseau has worked as an archivist in a variety of institutions for 11 years, and currently work in the National Library of Ireland as an Assistant Keeper. She owns Steph's Dog Training and has run group puppy classes and social walks, as well as providing private behaviour and training consultations for dogs of all ages, in both London UK, and Dublin Ireland.She is Founder of Happy Office Dogs which offers support and resources to dog-friendly workplaces as well as to those considering introducing dog-friendly policies. Her book Office Dogs: The Manual was published by Hubble & Hattie in 2019. It has also been published internationally and multilingually, with Norwegian and Italian versions available, and Spanish and Dutch versions in the pipelines. Rousseau has spoken at various events around the world, including the Pet Dog Trainers of Europe (PDTE), AGMs in Vienna and Durham, and the Dog Symposium in Norway. She has appeared on national television and radio in Ireland, as well as on podcasts and radio stations in America, Australia and beyond.
Turid Rugaas is an internationally renowned dog and equine behaviourist, her series of courses for dog and horse instructors known and respected worldwide. In 1984 she set up her own dog school and conducted several studies on dogs, one lasting two years and ending in the success book On Talking Terms with Dogs, still a bestseller in many countries. Following her attendance at the Human-Animal Bond conference in Montreal in 1991, Turid has travelled the world 3-4 times a month, giving talks and seminars, and educating dog trainers in 17 countries.
