About the Book

Climate change was turning around. This grand science experiment was working, we'd found a way out. Long before it started scientists ran simulations, testing and retesting the project with unprecedented detail until it became crystal clear. Recreating this inland sea called Eromanga was humanities way out of global warming. With geoengineering on this scale so many things could go wrong, but funding, and millions of people, still flooded in to help create a new future for our world. In a blink of geological time, an inland sea half the size of the Mediterranean formed in central Australia. The Eromanga sea became a reality, and its waters began the rewilding of Australia, creating a boom in wealth on an unimaginable scale. Eromanga initiated a chain of events that meant native animals and plants were thriving, and organic farms flourished across the whole country. Atmospheric Co2 was falling, coastal cities around the globe became protected from flooding and we had massive new sources of carbon neutral fuels. Eromanga's gigantic streams of clouds contributed not only to cooling Australia, but the entire planet. It took just a few years for Australia to become the richest country on the face of the Earth. A shining example of Kintsugi or golden repair. Taking something broken and remaking it more beautifully. For Val these were great times. He had had a job he loved, a fabulous partner, and a bright future. After all, owning a piece of prime real estate on the edge of the world's newest sea had its perks, the amazing climate, swimming, surfing, sailing and all kind of delicious organic foods were on the menu. Val forgot one thing - wealth has a way of changing things, and the extraordinary wealth being created by Eromanga, was always going to attract the wrong kind of people. The Eromanga Disruption is a journey into our near future, a future that will still face the challenges of greed and old-world thinkers. Val needs to step up to find the answers and what he finds, will make his past seem like a cake walk. This fast-paced future view from first time author Chris Toal takes us on a journey to a future that is so bright and so dark, that from the outset it's hard to put it down. www.eromangadisruption.com
